They nearly always use more power than they generate, showing a net loss over the year. The gadgetry controlling the power output is consuming power continuously, whether the turbine is turning or not. Panels much more efficient, the sun doesn’t have to shine. All academic in Jersey (remember the headline last year ‘ Jersey leads Europe in alternative energy planning’!) as there is no feed in tariff.
